Ina and Jack visited the Algarve in March, 2009.
The Algarve is Portugal’s southern most province, bounded by the Atlantic Ocean as its southern and western border, and the mountains of Caldeiro and Monchique. There are more than 100 miles of rugged coastline with magnificent tide washed clear and unpolluted golden sandy beaches, miles of limestone caves and grottoes, cliffs and bays. The Algarve has plenty to offer sightseers. There are Moorish castles, Gothic cathedrals, dramatic cliff top views, museums, monasteries, golf courses, untold numbers of restaurants and plenty of shops. Jack’s fascination with doors is included in this group of photos.
